Corral Founder Talks About Fashion Trends in Western Boots

in Behind the Scenes,Product Reviews

When Othell Welch talks about fashion trends in ladies’ western boots, people stop what they’re doing and listen.

aCorral Boots Fence LogoThat’s because Welch is the founder and president of Corral Boots, one of the most-cutting edge companies on the market. Also, he’s the chief designer of Corral’s intricately decorated cowgirl boots. (Read an earlier article about how Welch finds inspirations in designing his boots.)

So when Welch talked to the Denver Post at the recent National Western Stock Show & Rodeo about fashion trends in boots, it drew attention. An excerpt:

He is predicting pink will be the strongest fashion color for 2013. “And not just solid pink, but pink mixed in with other colors.”

Other hot colors, he says, are green and blue. And even when a boot is a single color, it features inlays and overlays that lend texture and depth to the design.

“The plain, slick-leather black boot is almost no more,” he says.

Welch also said that color, patterns and metal trims will eclipse rhinestone bling in as a hot trend in ladies western boots.

We at Drysdales already offer a few Corral ladies western boots in the hot colors he mentioned (click on the image for more product information):
