For more than a decade, Drysdales has proudly served as a sponsor and exhibitor at the International Finals Youth Rodeo (IFYR) in Shawnee, Okla.
The premier rodeo is marking its 20th year. Stace Allen, women’s buyer at Drysdales, explains the importance of the IFYR to Drysdales, and some of the specials provided to the rodeo’s participants:
A transcript of Allen’s comments:
It’s the 20th anniversary for the rodeo, and with Drysdales, we’ve been out here supporting the rodeo cause for 11 years. Drysdales loves coming to this rodeo every year because it gives us an insight to what the kids are really wanting and what the trends are going to be for the next year. So it’s great for us to come out here and see the different looks in T-shirts and denim, boots, hats … all kind of things that kids are wanting to wear … and when to get it.
Here at Drysdales every year, we sponsor with Cinch and Cruel Girl. They provide the contestants with free hats when they come into our booth. Also, if they buy the ‘buy two, get one free’ program, they get a free T-shirt from Cinch and Cruel Girl, along with a garment bag that can be converted into a laundry bag. So when they come in and spend ‘X’ amount of dollars, they get a lot of great freebies.
We also have our own T-shirt that Drysdales made this year. If you spend $50, you get it. It has the dates of the rodeo and gives you all the information (about it).
There’s still time to attend the rodeo this week. It runs two sessions a day, with the finals at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
And those who come to our booth may be able to get a Frisbee that will give you 20% off any purchase at our Tulsa retail stores or at Drysdales.com through Dec. 31, 2012.
